The motorist who collided with a tunnel near the Spoorsingel in Beverwijk on Sunday evening has died. The police announced this via X on Monday morning. The car crashed head-on into the side of the tunnel and then caught fire.
The accident happened last night at the intersection between Laan der Nederlanden and Spoorsingel. The tunnel was therefore closed to traffic for a long time.
It is not yet clear how the accident happened.
