1. FC Union Berlin – 1899 Hoffenheim, 19th matchday: 2:1 – Bundesliga – football

Some moves were also hastily messed up due to high enemy pressure. Because some passes were not appropriate and one or two players came too late, hard-fought duels became more and more the norm.

Trimmel prevented 0:2 – Luthe wide awake too

The second half tied in with the first. Hoffenheim was again the more decisive team. So Christopher Trimmel had to prevent Andrej Kramaric from finishing (51st). Dennis Geiger had previously taken the Union defensive out of the game with a fine lift.

It was also thanks to Berlin goalkeeper Luthe that the second guest goal did not appear on the scoreboard. The 34-year-old played along: After a one-two, Georginio Rutter sprinted into the penalty area shortly after he was substituted on. But Luthe recognized the situation and was there (61′).

Becker brings a breath of fresh air

Union defended in a disciplined manner, but their own offensive performance suffered as a result. And TSG couldn’t get through. There were good approaches on both sides, but also too many inaccuracies.

Substitute Sheraldo Becker then brought a breath of fresh air: his header flew past the post (72′). Shortly afterwards, Prömel did better. Kruse only hit the crossbar after a Becker pass, Prömel dusted off the Union lead with his head. Hoffenheim was no longer able to compensate for this setback.
