1. FC Köln signs Adamyan from TSG Hoffenheim – fee details

TSG conceded more than reported

As expected, Sargis Adamyan finally turns his back on TSG 1899 Hoffenheim and joins 1. FC Köln. The 29-year-old attacker will receive a contract with “Effzeh” until June 2026 and shirt number 23. The Armenian is now the sixth new signing for the Domstadt team. According to Transfermarkt information, a fee of 1.5 million euros will flow, with a further 500,000 euros in bonuses possible. Most recently, the “Express” said that the sum was in the “mid six-digit” range.

Cologne’s new managing director Christian Keller said: “We are very happy that Sargis Adamyan will wear the FC jersey in the future. Sargis is not only a top player who can improve the performance level of our team, but also a top character with great down-to-earthness, loyalty and integrity. In terms of sport, he is characterized by speed, depth, offensive 1:1 behaviour, finishing power and aggressive, sprint-intensive work against the ball. Since he can also, in principle, occupy any offensive position, he gives us additional positional flexibility.”

In the second half of last year, Adamyan was on loan for the Belgian champions FC Brugge and scored six goals in 16 games. An agreed purchase option was not redeemed. Most recently, the professional was also associated with Werder Bremen. “A key reason for my move to FC was that I already knew Steffen Baumgart (coach; ed.) and Christian Keller. When Steffen was assistant coach at Hansa Rostock, I trained under him. I know Christian from many years together in Regensburg. In addition, my family and I would like to go back to Germany,” explained Adamyan.
