1. FC Köln is fighting to stay in the Bundesliga. In the news blog on t-online you will find all the important news about the Geißbockheim.
1. FC Köln presents new special jersey
The 1. FC Cologne presented a new special jersey on Tuesday. The Billy Goats’ Bundesliga women will play their annual highlight game in the Rheinenergiestadion on Saturday (1 p.m.) and will wear shirts specially designed for this occasion against SV Werder Bremen.
The special jersey features a “powerful red-sand color gradient with clear contrasts – reduced to the essentials,” as the FC puts it. The design is intended to connect “street and stadium”. FC managing director Philipp Liesenfeld says: “With the special jersey we are confidently showing where we come from – and what moves us. Cologne is not just our home, but part of our identity on the pitch.”
1. FC Köln is said to be interested in the Bosnian storm talent Matej Deket. The 1.85 meter tall left-footed player is only 16 years old, but already plays for the professional team of the designated Bosnian champions Borac Banja Luka, for whom he has scored five times in 16 appearances this season.
As the Bosnian media “Meridian Sport” reports, FC is said to be advertising for Deket, just like PSV Eindhoven, and has already submitted a request in Banja Luka. Another interested party, Slavia Prague, is said to have already made an official offer. The attacker’s contract expires in January 2027.
DFB admits: Penalty against 1. FC Köln was a mistake
Once again referee trouble at 1. FC Köln. In the 1-2 defeat against Bayer Leverkusen, the guests received a controversial hand penalty. Although Eric Martel had his arm on, referee Robert Hartmann pointed to the spot shortly before the end of the first half. Patrik Schick gave the Werkself the lead.
Hartmann admitted after the final whistle that he would “feel better if I had decided to continue playing.” On Sunday, the DFB also confirmed that the penalty was a wrong decision. Alex Feuerherdt, spokesman for the referees, told Kicker: “The player moves his arm behind his body and tries to avoid handball by holding his arm. In such cases, a decision should not be made on criminal handball.”
In the 1-2 defeat against Bayer Leverkusen, Said El Mala missed the huge opportunity to give 1. FC Köln a 1-0 lead. After 35 minutes, the Billy Goats’ storm star only hit the post from a tight angle and not the empty goal.
