After Sargis Adamyan, 1.FC Köln has awarded the next center forward. Florian Dietz is moving to SCR Altach in Austria until the end of the season in order to get more match practice there than at Effzeh. As one of nine central attackers, the 26-year-old only made four appearances over a total of 88 minutes in the first half of the season. Rot-Weiss Essen is also said to have recently expressed interest.

As bottom of the Austrian Bundesliga table, Altach has the weakest offensive with 13 goals from 16 games and was therefore looking for reinforcements on the transfer market. “Florian is a versatile striker who will enrich our offensive game. His dynamism and goal threat fit our concept perfectly. We are convinced that he is a valuable reinforcement for our team,” said sports director Roland Kirchler.

Dietz himself, who only made his professional debut at the age of 24 and has since scored three goals in 27 games for 1. FC Köln, said: “I’m really looking forward to the new challenge at SCR Altach. The club has a clear vision and an environment in which I can develop further. I would like to support the team with my performance and be successful together with my new colleagues. The conversations with the trainer and management convinced me that Altach was exactly the right step for my career.” His contract in Cologne runs until 2026.
