With Jusuf Gazibegovic (24), 1. FC Cologne recently made their first new signing after the registration ban. Further commitments are to follow, including a player for the midfield center. According to the “Geissblog”, the second division team is therefore looking at Florian Grillitsch from TSG 1899 Hoffenheim.

The 29-year-old was already a candidate for Cologne in the summer of 2023, but decided to return to TSG after an unsuccessful season at Ajax Amsterdam. The Austrian was initially placed there this season and is currently out injured. However, he will not play any role afterwards under the new coach Christian Ilzer, as “Sky” reported three weeks ago.
The people of Cologne now apparently want to take advantage of this fact and start another attempt at Grillitsch. The contract of the 50-time national player in Kraichgau ends in 2026, but a sale would be agreed to this winter. Cologne could try a loan and purchase option, speculates the “Geissblog”.
With a market value of 6.5 million euros, Grillitsch would come to 1. FC Köln as the most valuable player, only Ibrahim Maza (19; €8 million) from Hertha BSC is currently in the lower house in the league – the next update will take place next Thursday rated higher.
