After the cup win, Go Ahead Eagles player Victor Edvardsen showed a controversial banner with Wouter Goes on top. Edvards stood on the canvas while he kept Goes, depicted like a dog, on the chain.
Later Edvards apologized: “It was funny and not to insult or hurt someone.”
The professional football prosecutor then started an investigation because the promotion may be contrary to the code of conduct. The prosecutor then decided to only give Edvardsen a reprimand and not a suspension.
