AZ, Ajax and FC Twente come into action in the last round of the group stage of the Europa League. AZ is certain of a longer stay in the second competition for club teams of UEFA. Ajax can hardly avoid a place in the interim round for a place in the eighth finals.
The numbers 1 to 8 qualify directly for the eighth finals. Only AZ has a small chance of a place in the top eight. The numbers 9 to 24 of the final score of the European League group compete in the interim round for a place in the eighth finals. Ajax is almost certain of participating in that intermediate round, for which FC Twente can therefore also qualify.
