Marijke Groenewoud has convincingly won the first edition of the Vier van Noord-Holland marathon series. The 25-year-old Friezin from AH-Zaanlander won the fourth and final race in Amsterdam after she had already won the other three marathons in Alkmaar, Hoorn and Haarlem in recent days.
Groenewoud once again sprinted to victory unthreatened on the Jaap Edenbaan. Her teammate Bente Kerkhoff (Oostwoud) came second, Esther Kiel (Bloemendaal) finished third.
