Rick Kruys played 163 games in the Premier League for FC Utrecht. The head coach of FC Volendam spent six years in the youth academy and made his debut in the first team in 2003. Kruys played in the main squad of FC Utrecht until 2008.

Royal HFC did itself a good service by beating AFC 1-2 on its visit to Amsterdam. The Haarlem team went into halftime with a lead thanks to a beautiful curled shot in the crossbar by former Telstar player Cas Dijkstra.

Shortly after the interruption, goalkeeper Mitchel Michaelis made a horrible mistake after a back pass rolled under her foot: 1-1. In the final phase, both teams looked for victory, but HFC was the only one still effective. Delano Ladan scored the winning goal on behalf of the visitors.

AFC is now 8th in the second division after 10 rounds. HFC climbs to place 10 thanks to the victory.

In the second division, Royal HFC won 2-1 against AFC. HHC Hardenberg was too strong for RKAV Volendam with 2-1.

Many FC Volendam players have a past in the cathedral city. Nordin Bukala, Gibson Yah, Aurelio Oehlers, Yannick Leliendal, Anthony Descotte and Henk Veerman went through the youth academy of FC Utrecht or played in the first team.
