He started in 1987 as the 4,026th employee at his father Jo Colruyt’s company. Today, Colruyt Group has more than 30,000 employees. Jef Colruyt headed the family business for almost 30 years with the well-known slogan ‘Lowest Prices’. “It cost me blood, sweat and tears every now and then, but I woke up every day with the idea that it would be the best day of my life. Even on the days I didn’t want it.”
