Even before the qualifying final, the DFB women had secured their World Cup ticket. There was another victory at the end.

The German women’s national team also won its last game in the World Cup qualification. In Slovenia, the DFB team won 2-0 (1-0). However, national coach Christian Wück’s team had a very difficult time, especially in the first half, hardly creating any chances to score and allowing themselves a few opportunities. A goal from Slovenia did not count due to an offside position.

The narrow lead at halftime was also fortunate because the goal in the 40th minute only came from an own goal by Lara Prašnikar after a German corner. In the second half, the German team turned up the heat and increased the score in the 50th minute through Shekiera Martinez. The DFB team now dominated the action and created numerous further opportunities, but a goal would not be scored. Germany ultimately managed to qualify for the World Cup with 16 out of 18 possible points.

The entire game can be read in the ticker:

Germany 2-0 Slovenia

90th minute +3: Germany gets another corner, but it doesn’t bring anything. Then referee Michalina Diakow blows the whistle. Germany wins 2-0.

90th minute +2: The ball lands at Kössler in the six-yard box via Brand and Kleinherne. But she only gets to the ball with a long leg and the shot goes over the goal.

90th minute: There are another three minutes of injury time.

89th minute: Slovenia comes out again and brings a ball into the middle. But Küver pays attention and calmly clarifies.

86th minute: Germany now seems to be confidently downplaying the game here. Brand gets another kick in a duel in midfield, but is able to continue.

82nd minute: Mühlhaus tries again with a shot from the edge of the penalty area, but doesn’t hit the ball properly. Mersnik picks up the ball.

80th minute: Mühlhaus narrowly missed another cross at the second post. She’s sniffing a hit here.

79th minute: Slovenia switches gears, but Kustrin is offside and is whistled back.

78th minute: Mühlhaus tries it from around 20 meters with his weaker left foot. A little too optimistic. The ball clearly passes to the left.

74th minute: Martinez penetrates the Slovenian penalty area and crosses to Endemann. But your shot is just blocked. As a result, Germany is awarded a free kick. Wück uses the break to make a double substitution. Martinez and Endemann make room for Nüsken and Brand. The free kick achieves nothing.

72nd minute: Germany is now dominating the game. Constrict the Slovenians, whose strength seems to be greatly diminishing, in their own half. Numerous crosses sail into the penalty area, but it’s not really dangerous yet.
