Reactions are pouring in worldwide on the death of American singer Tina Turner. “The world loses a music legend and a role model with her,” says her management.
“I am so saddened by the passing of my beautiful friend Tina Turner. She was a very talented artist and singer. She was inspiring, warm, funny and generous. She helped me a lot when I was young and I will never forget her,” says 79-year-old Mick Jagger on Instagram.
Bryan Adams thanks Turner “for being an inspiration to millions of people worldwide by telling us your story and giving us your beautiful voice.” The Canadian also says he is grateful for the time they have spent together “on tour, in the studio and as friends”.

“Rest in peace and strength. The Queen, the legend, the icon. There will never be another. I cherish my times with you,” said top model Naomi Campbell in a response to Turner management’s Instagram post. Elton John, on the other hand, laments “that the world has lost one of its most exciting artists”. “A total legend on record and on stage. She was untouchable,” he said.

The Flemish music connoisseur Jean Blaute reacts on Twitter to the news. “Sweet lady, unique performer, more than an icon. No words for it,” said Blaute. Bart Peeters, who was allowed to interview Tina Turner twice, remembers Turner as a “friendly woman” and praises her vocal qualities. “When you look up her music, you have to look up the live versions. No Beyoncé can compete with that. Beyoncé may be the queen now, but the previous queen was even tougher,” Peeters told VRT NWS.
“Give a party in heaven,” writes singer Natalia on her Instagram page. “You will never completely leave us. I never get enough of you. Rest in strength, dear lioness Tina.”

The American space agency NASA also mourns the death of the legend. “Simply the best. Music legend Tina Turner shone on stage and in the hearts of millions as the Queen of Rock ‘n’ Roll. Her legacy will live forever among the stars,” she said on Twitter.
In an initial response to the death of singer Tina Turner, the US government calls her death a huge loss. “That is incredibly sad news. Tina Turner was an icon, a music icon,” said spokeswoman. She went on to say that she was a huge fan of the singer. “It’s a huge loss, a huge loss to the communities that loved her, especially the music industry.”
President Biden also paid attention in a tweet to the death of Turner, whom he called a “once in a generation” talent who changed American music forever.
Former US President Barack Obama also reacted to Turner’s death. “She was raw, unstoppable. She was powerful. And she was fearlessly herself – as she sang and told her truth, through joy and sorrow.”
