Elton John, on the other hand, laments “that the world has lost one of its most exciting artists”. “A total legend on record and on stage. She was untouchable,” he said.

The American space agency NASA also mourns the death of the legend. “Simply the best. Music legend Tina Turner shone on stage and in the hearts of millions as the Queen of Rock ‘n’ Roll. Her legacy will live forever among the stars,” she said on Twitter.
