‘Weekly in VI by 2025’

Matthijs van Nieuwkerk is tipped as the permanent substitute for René van der Gijp, who is returning to a four-day working week at Today Inside. “Albert Verlinde’s name is also mentioned regularly.”

The men of Today Inside are negotiating with John de Mol about an extension of their contract for the 2025/2026 TV season. How is it going? That’s clear. René van der Gijp agrees in principle; He will return to a four-day working week after New Year’s Eve and will be free every Wednesday. And Johan Derksen? He also wants to continue for a year.

Bonje with John

But Wilfred Genee? He is at odds with John de Mol. He demands his own interview program in addition to VI and that is right, says Johan on the talk show. “That can be solved very easily by Talpa management by scheduling it on Sunday morning. If we are that important, they should solve it very quickly.”

According to Johan, it doesn’t help that Wilfred and John don’t like each other. “You work together like a red rag. If you put you in a room, you know one thing for sure: it will be messy. John is used to everyone who comes in bowing to him like a jackknife,” he says. And Wilfred said: “Yes, we have a special effect on each other.”

Who is Raid-Gijp?

The most interesting issue is who will be the Wednesday Gijp. Who will take René’s place when he is free on Wednesday? “The name Albert Verlinde is mentioned regularly, but so is that of Rutger Castricum. They could also do it alternately. I don’t know if you want a permanent replacement on Wednesdays,” says Evert Santegoeds.

Colleague Ronald Molendijk responded to this Show news: “If they alternate, then you have varied guests and a varied table composition. I think the program is so successful because as a viewer you can go along with one of the people who is stuck there.”

‘This is VI’

Private boss Evert thinks that won’t be too bad. “If you keep Wilfred and Johan as anchors, that is still enough for the viewers to say: ‘This is VI’, I think.”

Colleague Iris van Lunenburg: “I would think of Albert. He is doing very well and seems to be enjoying himself. I would be surprised if he didn’t become one or if he didn’t come every now and then. That seems like a good one to me.”

Matthijs

Ronald then comes up with a surprising name. “Matthijs van Nieuwkerk.”

Evert: “Yes, that would be very spectacular.”

Ronald: “I would absolutely love to put that down.”

Iris: “And he probably has the time.”

Evert: “I think Matthijs’ political color is a bit different.”

Shit

Ronald thinks that’s really nice. “I think that’s part of what makes the program fun. I think Matthijs is absolutely fine, right? He didn’t kill anyone with alcohol or anything.”

VI is also the ultimate stage to bring such a person back, he believes. “We don’t have much in common (he and VI, ed.), but we do both hate the cancel culture, so I say: Matthijs van Nieuwkerk.”
