Towards the end of the second round, the guests took the lead again, 22:21, but were unable to capitalize on that either. Coach Enard tried to change the balance of power with numerous player changes.
Frankfurt wins in the tie-break
In the third set, the Berliners initially fended off three of their opponent’s match balls before substitute Marek Sotola initiated the turnaround to win the set with the point to 27:26. The Frankfurters then temporarily lost control of the game. The opponent set the tone.
The tiebreak finally had to decide. There, the Hessians quickly pulled away to 7:3 and then confidently headed for victory with an outstanding Daniel Malescha on the diagonal position.
