Colin Kleine-Bekel (23) will stay at FC St. Gallen 1879 for another year. The central defender will again be loaned out by VfL Bochum to the Swiss Cup winners and runners-up, with whom he will compete in the Europa League qualification. Kleine-Bekel’s contract with the German second division club was previously extended by one year until 2029.
Due to the lack of prospects in Bochum, Kleine-Bekel moved to FCSG last January, where he was able to fight for a place in the starting eleven at the end of the season and for whom he made 14 appearances (one goal). Kleine-Bekel played 15 minutes as a substitute in the cup triumph against second division club FC Stade-Lausanne-Ouchy (3-0). It was his first professional title.
“Colin has more than proven his sporting and human value for our team and our club in the past few months. We are therefore very pleased that we were able to reach a renewed agreement with Colin and VfL Bochum for further cooperation,” said sports director Roger Stilz.
