Stuttgart (dpa) – Bundesliga soccer team VfB Stuttgart is calm about the rumors of a change about some of its top players and is ready to talk in the event of concrete offers.
“We have always emphasized that we sit down with the respective player in the case of corresponding offers in order to find the best solution for VfB and the player,” said sports director Sven Mislintat when asked about speculation about Sasa Kalajdzic, Borna Sosa and Orel Mangala of the Germans press agency. “It can be a transfer, but of course it can also mean staying at VfB.”
Midfielder Mangala and full-back Sosa have contracts with the Swabians until 2024 and 2025. Kalajdzic, who has so far rejected an offer to extend his contract, is still tied to VfB until the summer of 2023. With the club being hit hard financially by the Corona crisis, all three players are considered candidates for sale after this season.
“Borna, Sasa and Orel have contracts with us beyond the summer, so there’s no reason to be nervous,” said Mislintat. “At the moment this topic is very far away anyway, our entire concentration is on the current season and our goal of staying in the Bundesliga. Everything else is not important now.”
