Early on Thursday evening there were two intersection crashes in Berlin, one in Lichtenberg and one in Mitte.
A VW Golf crashed into a BMW on Landsberger Allee at the corner of Weißenseer Weg. Both drivers were injured and had to be hospitalized.
There was a lot of damage to the vehicles, the fire brigade cleared the intersection, and there were traffic delays. The cause of the accident is still unclear, at the time of the accident it was snowing heavily.
Crash with BVG bus at Gendarmenmarkt
Shortly after 9 p.m. there was the second accident, on the corner of Französische Straße and Markgrafenstraße. Here a BVG bus crashed head-on into a BMW.
According to initial information, the driver of the BMW was slightly injured – no one is said to have been injured on the bus.
The officials from the local police section are investigating the cause of the accident, it was probably a wrong-way error by the BMW driver.
