Decision by March
Real Madrid’s Toni Kroos no longer wants to play for any other club and wants to end his career with the Spanish record champions. “I’m going to end my career here, I just don’t know when,” said the 32-year-old midfielder and 2014 world champion on Tuesday. With the German, defending champion Real meets Celtic Glasgow in the last round of the group stage of the Champions League at their home Santiago Bernabéu on Wednesday (6:45 p.m./in the TM live ticker).

Kroos, whose contract in Madrid expires on June 30 next year, did not want to say much more about his future. When asked if and when his contract will be extended or if he is even considering retiring, he explained: “I’m in good shape, physically I feel very good. I and the club are very relaxed about the extension.” Kroos replied to the media representatives with a laugh: “We will decide before March so that you don’t get nervous.”
The “Royal” are the first in Group F to have just one point ahead of RB Leipzig before the last matchday. After the last three victories, a draw is enough for the German cup winners in their duel in Warsaw against the Ukrainian champions Shakhtar Donetsk to qualify for the round of 16. In the event of a win and a mistake by the Madrilenians, Leipzig would even go first.
