For many fans, the new “Resident Evil” series is horror – in the truest sense of the word. A mere 25% of reviews on Rotten Tomatoes are positive, while on IMDb the series scores 3.6 out of 10. This makes Resident Evil one of the lowest-rated TV shows of all time.
Criticism abounds in online forums. Comments range from “Yeah, that’s rubbish. It doesn’t pay to look” to “The quality obviously didn’t matter. It was all about making a profit.” There was also little positive news to be read on Twitter.
People hated them #ResidentEvilNetflix not because it has so little to do with the game (we were all aware of that), but because it’s just bad. ?

“Should we implement it 1:1?”
“Yeah no, let’s just put in a crazy boring story with random characters that don’t even come close to resembling the specifications. The fans are going to escalate like that.”That’s exactly what they do? #ResidentEvilNetflix

A few found the criticism exaggerated.
It really annoys me sometimes that the #ResidentEvilNetflix series is hated. The feeling arises that a pessimistic basic attitude is already there by default and people only hate it because it has only been the case with film adaptations so far.

A world of monsters
The plot of the horror series has little to do with the movies from the noughties or video games from the 90s. The focus is on Jade Wesker, who is fighting for her survival in the year 2036. In a world full of zombies and terrifying creatures, she is looking for her missing sister Billie.

It stars Ella Balinska (Jade), Adeline Rudolph (Billie) and Lance Reddick as Albert Wesker. Resident Evil has been on Netflix since July 14.
