The GT-CER will close the sports course with a single day of activity at the Circuit de Barcelona
The Open Oldtimer contest and the Regional-Catalan Speed Championship will complete the Sunday program
Following the traditions, the Circuit of Barcelona-Catalunya hosts this Sunday, November 27, the grand closing of the Spanish Resistance Championship GT-CER, an appointment that is characterized by the celebration of a two-hour race in which both GT’s and passenger cars offer a unique spectacle.
The contest, promoted by the Catalan company V-Line Org., brings together in a single grid an endless number of categories and classes that, in addition, the titles of the season are played at the Circuit de Barcelona-Catalunya. In the GT’s division, they are Francisco Abreu and Francisco Mora the winning duo, with practically 100 points advantage. These pilots are both the leaders of Class 2, while the dominator of Class 1 and GPX is the Dutchman Cor Euser. the experienced Francesc Gutierrez It has a gap of practically 60 points at the top of the category classification GPR.José Manuel de los Milagros could be proclaimed champion of CER Class 1, as well as D1. For the occasion, it has the invaluable collaboration of Nerea Martí at the controls of the BMW M2 CS Racing. Henk Van Zoest is the most advantaged of the participants in Class 2, although Juan Campos I could take that honor away from him. Oscar Plazio and Carlos Plazo present their candidacy as head of the D2, while Smörg does the same in the D3. Among the list of participants, which totals approximately 30 competitors, there are names such as Jordi Gené, a rider who has already tried his luck at the Circuit with the resistance contest on other occasions, as it did for example in 2020. This year the Cupra TCR gets on again with the next generation Gené, specifically with the young Eric Gene, and both will be enrolled in the Monlau Competición team. The GT-CER will not be the only one that will challenge itself on the Catalan track. Promoted by the same organizers, the Open Oldtimer will exhibit its imposing classic units for the first and only time this season. The sports program also includes the Regional Championship, bringing together various territories such as Aragon, the Valencian Community and Catalonia; and the Catalan of Speed.
