Scooby-Doo cartoon character Velma falls in love with a female character.

Velma, known from the Scooby-Doo animation, has long been speculated to be a lesbian. The guesses were right.

Velma falls in love with clothing designer Coco Diablo in the recent Trick or Treat Scooby-Doo Halloween movie.

The film appeared on the Cartoon Network streaming service on Tuesday.

Velma is voiced by an actor and comedian Kate Micucci.

Due to her queer spirit, Velma has long been a favorite of sexual minorities, the producers of the series have already said years ago that Velma is not straight. In the past, however, Velma has not shown such a clear interest in other female characters.

Scooby-Doo is a popular cartoon series produced by Hanna-Barbera Productions, now Cartoon Network Studios, which tells about the adventures of the detective dog Scooby-Doo and his friends.

The first television series appeared already in 1969, the first film in 2002.
