Koopmeiners used a penalty kick in injury time in the first half and scored in the opening phase of the second half with a shot from distance. The former AZ player again scored from eleven meters in the final phase.

Atalanta is the leader in Serie A with ten points after four games. AS Roma have the same number of points, but scored one less.
Koopmeiners and Marten de Roon played the entire game for Atalanta, Hans Hateboer stayed on the bench with the home team. Perr Schuurs was not allowed to fill in for Torino.
With his three goals, Koopmeiners settled in a row with Faas Wilkes, Wim Kieft and Marco van Basten. They are the only Dutchmen to score a hat-trick in Serie A.
