The “Eras” tour is said to have grossed the equivalent of almost 1.9 billion euros. Swift gave a chunk of money to the helping hands.
On December 8, Taylor Swift wrapped up her 21-month “Eras” tour in Vancouver. She didn’t just keep the enormous amount of money that came from the concert series for herself. The US singer also gave some of this to her crew members.
Almost 187 million euros for the employees
According to reports from “People”, the “Fortnight” interpreter has paid $197 million (around €187 million) in bonuses to her team over the past two years. The money was distributed in addition to salaries. Everyone who worked on their tour probably had something from this sum – truck drivers, caterers, technicians, the merch team, the production team, dancers, carpenters, physiotherapists and so on many more.
“A sum of money that is life-changing for these people.”
We already reported that there were extra payments during the “Eras” tour in August 2023, when there was talk of a bonus totaling 55 million US dollars (around 52 million euros). At that time, the head of the concert transport company Shomotion, Mike Scherkenbach, revealed that many members of the production crew had received bonuses of $100,000 (77,000 euros) each. He told Rolling Stone: “She gives a sum of money that is life-changing for these people.” And: “Many of these drivers don’t have their own house, and with that kind of money you can make a down payment on a house. That’s what really makes me happy. That generosity is a game-changer for these people.”
Record-breaking tour ends with cuddles
With the end of her tour, Swift can look back on groundbreaking successes: According to estimates by the trade magazine “Pollstar”, the concert series, which began in March 2023, grossed more than two billion dollars (around 1.9 billion euros). This makes it by far the most commercially successful tour in history. Elton John previously held the record. His farewell tour “Farewell Yellow Brick Road” grossed almost a billion US dollars.
Swift has been touring the world for almost two years. She celebrated the end of her journey with her parents: Andrea and Scott Swift. On the first evening of her three-day concert series in Vancouver, she fell into their arms after their show. In her gratitude, the global star also found a few words for her fans on the final evening before she left the stage: “This tour was the adventure of my life […]Swift asserted. “We will never forget that you gave us this moment.”
