After incident with fan
The Football Association (FA) has handed Cristiano Ronaldo a two-match ban and fined him £50,000 for slapping his phone out of a fan’s hand. This was announced by the FA on Wednesday. The incident happened last April after his ex-club Manchester United lost 1-0 at Everton. Videos of it then circulated on the internet. Ronaldo had admitted his wrongdoing and publicly apologized for it.
It remains to be seen whether the suspension of two games in England will still affect the 37-year-old, who is currently playing with Portugal at the World Cup in Qatar. It’s unclear where Ronaldo will play in the future. After a sensational TV interview, Man United took the consequences and announced the separation by mutual consent on Tuesday. In the interview, Ronaldo sharply criticized the club, his coach Erik ten Hag and the club owners.
