Göztepe FK will host Hatayspor in the 16th week of Trendyol Super League. Before the match, Hatayspor shared a reaction to Atilla Karaoğlan, who was appointed as the referee for the match.
In his post, Hatayspor pointed to the Antalyaspor match played on August 25, 2024 and said that Atilla Karaoğlan was beaten by Antalyaspor managers in the match where they were leading 2-0 at the half-time, and then the match ended with Antalyaspor’s victory (3-2) due to the wrong decisions made.
Following this post, Göztepe FK gave a harsh response to Hatayspor and in the statement accused Hatayspor of trying to influence the referees. Here is the statement of the Izmir giant…

Even though we are approaching the last weeks of the first half, the statements made by our opponents before each match to impress the referees are starting to taste bad. It is clearly seen that such discourses do not contribute to the development of Turkish football.
The decisions taken against us following these statements prevent us from fighting on equal terms. We want this situation not to be repeated and football to be played only on the green field and finished there.
