He has played as captain of Susijeng since 2015 Shawn Huffin glorious The player’s career will end after the European Championships in September.

At least there is no longing in the air yet, according to the super-popular Chicago Bulls documentary, his own Last Dance that is, the last dance is about to begin.

– At the forefront, I am happy with my career and the opportunity I have to end the games on the national team.

– I have given my best to basketball, and there could have been no more, Huff says.

The 38-year-old Huff played for the first time on the men’s national team as early as 19 years ago. After more than 200 matches, the torch will soon move to the younger ones.

– By no means would I have wanted to hang out without giving my all.

Continuing the legacy

In his long career, Huff has absorbed lessons, especially from national team legends Teemu from the Coast and From Hanno Möttöllafrom whom Huff inherited the captaincy of Susijeng.

– Their teachings cannot be repeated. I try to take things that work for them, but also to be the captain and team leader in my own style.

– I can’t be Hanno or Teemu, but I can be the best version of myself, Huff in.

On the current team, Huff’s legacy continues to be learned by many young faces, such as Mikael Jantunen, Miro Little and Elias Valtonen.

– These guys have only the best games up front, and it draws a smile to their ears.

Towards further qualifiers

My basketball icon Hanno Möttölä is now sharing his wisdom on the coaching side. Jussi Eskola

Huff has a real attitude towards this week’s World Cup qualifiers. Finland will be caught in the qualifying place when only the last one in the block will fall.

– There are no easy games in Europe and all teams are competitive.

At the opening of the qualifiers last November, Sweden overthrew Susijeng at home, so there is a spirit of revenge in the air on Thursday in Espoo.

– Sweden gave us a good school in the first game. We took our lessons and won the next three games.

Croatia, which is the last in the qualifying group, has been included in the NBA Bojan Bogdanovićin and Ivica Zubacin.

– Croatia has had some difficult qualifiers, but they have got tough players. Yes in these games everything has to be given.

At least the gains from preparation and togetherness should not be caught.

– We’ve been together for about a couple of weeks. Games and this window have been pretty much expected, Huff thinks.
