Sensational victory Telstar Women over PSV, Amy Banarsie hurts old team

For the first time this season, Telstar Women stepped off the field as the winner. PSV was beaten 2-0 in the women’s premier league tonight. There was a starring role for substitute Samya Hassani (goal and assist). VV Alkmaar narrowly won (1-0) against PEC Zwolle. Former player of the Zwollenars, Amy Banarsie, made the only goal.

It was already clear before the game that it would be a historic one. The arbitral quartet consisted entirely of women, which was the first time in Dutch professional football. The start of Telstar Women was good. Annemiek Kruijthof already tested PSV goalkeeper Lisan Alkemade after twenty seconds.

She just hit the ball over. The team from Eindhoven became dangerous via a free kick, but it went wide. The team from Velsen got the best chances and that was mainly due to Kyan Coady. She created the most danger with good crosses and actions. Just before the break, PSV had the greatest opportunity to date. Chimera Ripa (former VV Alkmaar), however, shot the ball into the side net.

Lead role Hassani

Early in the second half, Inessa Kaagman from Hoorn had an imposed chance face to face with Kelly van der Steen. Telstar’s goalkeeper was able to save the ball. After this, PSV continued to get great opportunities through Joëlle Smits and Kaagman. The latter even thought to score, but her shot was miraculously stopped by Van der Steen.

Telstar opened the score against the ratio. Alkemade handed the ball in to Samya Hassani who gave the ball to Isa Gomez. She made 1-0. Just before time, substitute Hassani completely decided the game by also scoring the second of the evening. Telstar therefore won for the first time this season tonight, but remains last in the premier league. It was their last game of 2022.

Telstar’s responses will be posted on our site later tonight.

VV Alkmaar also took the three points tonight. They beat PEC Zwolle. The Alkmaarders received a penalty after fifteen minutes after a foul by Maud Rutgers. The people of Zwolle then had to continue with ten men, because Rutgers got red. The penalty was then missed by Judith Roosje. Veerle van der Most had another big chance before the break. This one missed the target.

Bankruptcy important

In the second half, the home team had chances through Danique Noordman and Leonie Vlek, but it was VV Alkmaar that took the lead. Amy Banarsie, former player of PEC, scored a long shot: 1-0. Bo van Egmond had the equalizer on her shoe, but the victory was no longer in danger.
