Sandwich maker catches fire and creates large clouds of smoke in apartment building

A remarkable fire in a flat on the Torenallee in Eindhoven Friday morning. A resident of the building saw smoke coming out from under a door. The bad guy? That turned out to be a sandwich maker.

The fire was reported around a quarter to eight. The fire brigade was soon present with two fire trucks. Because the residents of the flat on the fifth floor were not at home, the door was forced open. Inside it turned out that a sandwich maker on the stove had caught fire.

The fire was quickly brought under control. As a result, other residents of the building did not have to be evacuated. After an hour everything was under control again and the fire brigade returned to the barracks. The flat where the fire broke out is still extra ventilated. The residents have also been informed.
