Canadian comedian and actor John Candy caused laughs in films like Spaceballs, but his untimely death at the age of 44 put an abrupt end to his career. “Deadpool” director Ryan Reynolds now wants to do his part to ensure that Candy is not forgotten. As Reynolds announced, he is working on a documentary about Candy.
“Because John Candy is trending on Twitter right now, I’ll just say I love him. So much so that Maximum Effort is working on a documentary about his life with Colin Hanks,” Reynolds wrote on Twitter. “Expect tears.” Maximum Effort is Reynolds’ own production company. A Reynolds representative told people.com that Candy’s family is giving Reynolds access to home video and other archive footage for the film.
