RKC Waalwijk again failed to take points in the Eredivisie on Sunday. FC Twente was too strong in their own home port in Enschede and defeated the Waalwijkers 3-0.
The blue and yellows got off to a threatening start, but didn’t manage to keep it up for long. Twente thought they would take the lead in the 21st minute, but Van Wolfswinkel’s goal was rejected due to hands by Sem Steijn.
The team from Twente did not leave it at that and became more threatening. In the 34th minute it was hit again. Sem Steijn ran the ball into the net after a good pass from Cerny: 1-0.
Five minutes before the break, RKC became dangerous again, but a pass from Vroegh to Lutonda again failed to reach the goal. The Waalwijkers got away with it three times, but Sem Steijn scored again in the 45th minute.
Even after the break, it did not work for RKC. Several attempts on the goal of the Waalwijkers came to nothing. In the final phase, striker Ricky van Wolfswinkel also scored and that brought the Twente team to a 3-0 victory.
Due to the simple victory, Twente keeps the connection with the top. RKC remains in twelfth place in the standings.
