Whereas just before the turn of the century ‘Sex and the City’ was the series of choice for straight women who wanted to feast on the sex capades of a handful of girlfriends, then ‘Queer as Folk’ was the unambiguous equivalent for the gay man. After the former received a reboot last year, the latter has now also started a revival. One in which -unlike ‘And Just Like That…’- Kim Cattrall did want to play a part. But does this new version of ‘Queer as Folk’ on STARZPLAY have anything to say that the previous two versions didn’t?
