In the Premier League, two top teams, Arsenal and Liverpool, have dropped points. However, the 2:2 (0:1) draw between the “Reds” and FC Fulham was remarkable.
As early as the 17th minute, Andrew Robertson saw himself sent off for an emergency stop. At this point, Fulham had already taken the lead through Andreas Pereira (11th), and the Scottish full-back’s offense prevented the visitors from having a great opportunity to score their second goal.
Despite being outnumbered, Liverpool still showed class and dominated the game; a dream cross from Mohammed Salah then enabled Cody Gakpo to equalize (47′). A turbulent game then developed with chances on both sides, Rodrigo Muniz then gave Fulham the lead again (76′). Shortly before the end, the “Reds” secured a point because Diogo Jota was able to equalize in the 86th minute.
Chelsea can move closer to Liverpool
Liverpool still remains comfortably top of the table, but Chelsea FC can reduce the gap to two points with a win against Brentford FC on Sunday (December 15, 2024). Arsenal FC (six points behind Liverpool) did not succeed because coach Mikel Arteta’s team couldn’t get past a 0-0 draw against Newcastle United.
