Aki reveals a special way he used to cover up his infidelity in a previous relationship.

Aki Manninen and Rita Niemi-Manninen talk in the fresh A bridge, I guess -podcast episode about cheating.
Aki and Rita reveal that they have both cheated on their then-partners in their previous relationships.
– You are the first woman I have never cheated on, and I never will, Aki states.
Aki remembers a situation from his previous relationship, when he came home from a trip after cheating and smelled exceptionally strong of perfume. When the man did not want to be caught for his infidelity, he sneaked into the garage of the house.
– I went to the garage, put gasoline in a rag and (rubbed) gasoline on my face, he says.
Inside, the partner wondered why Aki smelled so strongly of gasoline and told him to take a shower immediately. The man’s explanation of the smell to his partner was:
– I tripped over a petrol bucket.
Rita is completely amazed by the explanation.
– Who believes such a thing?
– You won’t believe what kind of lies a cheater can put into the fire, Aki states.
Rita also opens up about her own history of cheating and says that she has not been able to continue her former relationship after the cheating, but has left it quickly.
– At that moment I knew that I wasn’t going to stay here and I was leaving here, he recalls.
He says that cheating acted as a catalyst for the breakup and admits afterwards that events should have gone the other way.
– First, you should have parted nicely and not offended the other person, Rita says.
– And in that I have been a really flawed, immature person. Even in the area that I haven’t thought about other people’s feelings as much as my own desires, Aki, on the other hand, blames himself.

Aki reveals that he had a ten-year secret affair in his youth, which he never caught. He describes that phase of his life as being full of lies.
– It gnawed at me every day from the inside. It was a really hard time, but I got so much from that person.
Rita wonders how Aki’s ex-partner never found out and didn’t even know about it. Aki, on the other hand, states that everything else in the relationship went so well, except for the sex life, that the partner did not know how to suspect anything.
Rita Niemi-Manninen and Aki Manninen have been together since 2013. The couple became more widely known with the Temptation Island Suomi program, when they had been together for about a year.
The couple got married in 2015, and the duo’s daughter Donna was born in June 2019.
