Peter Bosz gets his way: Noa Lang will not go to the Dutch team

PSV player Noa Lang was injured in the match against Sparta on Sunday. He was substituted in the first half because the attacker was suffering from an injury. Peter Bosz, the trainer of the Eindhoven club, expressed the wish afterwards that his attacker would not have to report to the Dutch national team on Monday. Later that evening he was served. Lang has withdrawn and can now work on his recovery in Eindhoven.

After more than half an hour, the match was over for Noa Lang, because he was suffering from a hamstring injury. That was not the first time for him this season.

“This is the third time this has happened to him,” Peter Bosz said afterwards. “That is serious. He could no longer sprint and that is necessary. And of course there is a chance that the injury will get worse if you leave him on the field.”

“I once won 22 games in a row with RKC.”

Lang was initially called up for the Dutch national team, which will play two international matches in the coming week. If it were up to Bosz, he would stay in Eindhoven, he said after leaving Sparta. “I don’t think it would be wise if he goes to the Dutch team on Monday. With the Dutch national team you also have to be able to sprint, but I am not a doctor. We will investigate it further.” Ultimately, it was decided to leave Lang at home and call up Feyenoord player Calvin Stengs as a replacement.

Lang’s injury was a blemish on PSV’s 4-0 win at Sparta. The Eindhoven club remains flawless in the Eredivisie. “I can only be satisfied with that,” the trainer beamed. “I once won 22 games in a row with RKC, so we still have a while to go.” And so Bosz always has something to wish for.
