Special forcesIn the ninth episode of the program, the test takers are again on a morning jog. There is also a trainer in the training sessions Matias Petäistön36, German Shepherd Aspen.

During the morning jog, Aspen spins especially Osmo Ikonen45, around. Ikonen’s fear of dogs has been mentioned several times in the program.

Aspen jumps up against Iko and barks at him. At some point, Ikonen growls a little at Aspen. While Ikonen was in a squatting position, Aspen looked at his side while barking.

– Argh! Ikonen exclaims in the episode, gets up and touches his side.

Ikonen’s exclamation makes Petäistö open his verbal coffin.

– You pushed the dog on the first day. I told you that it doesn’t like you after that, Petäistö acknowledges.

– It seems so. I try to like it, says Ikonen.

– It identifies people who don’t like it, Petäistö says.

At the base of the experimenters, Ikonen says that Aspen was biting him all the time. Soon, Ikonen tries to reconcile with Aspen.

– Come on, are we friends? Ikonen speaks gently to Aspen.

However, Aspen doesn’t enjoy being thrashed by Ikonen for long, and quickly leaves. Petäistö tells the trainers’ meeting how visible Ikonen’s nervousness was.

– Sometimes he looked like he could hit the gloves on the counter. He would have taken anyone’s head, so much drool was flying, Petäistö describes.

Petäistö recently told Iltalehti that Aspen is enjoying her role in the show.

– As a smart dog, it has realized that it does not consider competitors its enemies, but it senses that they are not the same group. It starts barking at them right away and behaves differently to its own.

Aspen may also have taken someone to experiment with an eye stick if it has sensed a human’s fear of dogs. According to Matias, Aspen and his other dog Bravo have reacted to people who are afraid of dogs in his home as well.

– At least it hasn’t helped matters if someone is really afraid of dogs. Yes, they will then realize that there is something wrong, in which case they will be more active than normal. It’s like they’re testing.
