Bundesliga promoted Schalke 04 has extended the contract with goalkeeper Loris Karius. The 32-year-old’s new working paper now runs until the end of June 2028, as the Gelsenkirchen-based company announced.

In the promotion season, Karius was an essential support for the team. He was used in 30 league games and kept 13 clean sheets. According to a report in “Bild”, the keeper is becoming one of the top earners at Schalke.

“Especially in close games, he made the difference several times with decisive saves and secured important points,” said Youri Mulder, Director of Professional Football.

Karius moved to Schalke as a free player in January 2025. He previously played for FC Liverpool, Mainz 05 and Union Berlin, among others.
