Elton John no longer wants to use Twitter because it’s going in the wrong direction. He wrote that in his last post, which he posted on Friday.
“All my life I’ve tried to bring people together through music. It saddens me how misinformation is now being used to divide our world,” John said. That’s why he decided to stop using Twitter. The 75-year-old believes the recent change in business policies “allows misinformation to thrive unchecked”.
Elon Musk personally responded to Elton John’s farewell post. “I love your music. I hope you come back Is there any specific misinformation that worries you?” he wrote. The musician left the question unanswered so far.
I love your music. Hope you come back. Is there any misinformation in particular that you’re concerned about?

Twitter no longer takes action against false information, for example about the corona virus. After his takeover, Musk also reactivated previously blocked accounts, such as the profile of ex-US President Donald Trump. With these measures, the billionaire wants to introduce what he believes to be absolute freedom of expression on Twitter.
Elton John isn’t the only celebrity user who has left the social network in recent times. Jack White announced in November that he would no longer use the platform. It bothered him that Musk had reactivated Trump’s account. In an Instagram post to the Tesa boss, the musician wrote: “You have gone too far and are now using your power to promote horrific, violent liars who are pushing back the country and the world and endangering the democracy that made you happy in the first place.” made rich and successful.”
