NITRO on-air team is looking forward to the ADAC GT Masters

The ADAC GT Masters will start the new season in Oschersleben this weekend (April 22nd to 24th). The competent on-air team of the exclusive TV partner NITRO, which is presenting the German GT Championship for the second time after 2021, is once again in the middle of the action.

The proven quartet with Eve Scheer, Anna Nentwig, Dirk Adorf and Nico Menzel has concentrated racing and TV experience and that has already paid off in the past season. The live rate of the ADAC GT Masters increased by an average of 42 percent compared to the previous year.

Oliver Schablitzki, Head of Multichannel at RTL Deutschland: “The first season of the ADAC GT Masters on NITRO was a complete success! In all target groups, we managed to increase the market share and reach of the GT series. In the target group of the 30th – men up to 49 years of age, we were able to almost triple our market share with 3.7 percent compared to the previous year at Sport1 – clear proof of the massive leap in the series at NITRO.We are therefore very satisfied with how the partnership started in the first year and look forward to an exciting season and the next joint development steps with one of the world’s leading series in GT racing!”

Eve Scheer introduces the NITRO team: “In youngster Nico we have a professional who is also active as a driver. Dirk has an incredible wealth of experience after numerous races in touring car and GT racing. Anna was in Formula 1 as a filmmaker and I’ve been a reporter. I’ve been racing since 2002, I’ve been active in historic motorsport for four years and, among other things, I’ve been a fast-paced reporter at the 24 races at the Nürburgring. Everyone brings their strengths to the table and everyone is highly motivated and happy, exclusively about one of the strongest GT To be able to report on series in Europe with big brands and fast drivers.”

The start of the 2021 premiere season went smoothly. Right from the start, the ADAC GT Masters was a hands-on series for the NITRO crew, and there was no problem in contact with the teams and drivers. “Cameramen and technicians who have worked for RTL in Formula 1 for years were pleasantly surprised by the openness in the ADAC GT Masters. We were welcome everywhere,” recalls the moderator. Dirk Adorf also thoroughly enjoyed his first season in the ADAC GT Masters as a commentator. “It was exciting and we had a lot of fun watching what was happening on the track. Nico and I practically rode in the commentary booth and could feel what was going on in the drivers. I think we all conveyed this enthusiasm well. “

Far more than two dozen employees on duty

It should continue in this style this season. For weeks, the team has been preparing for the new season in editorial meetings. Social media platforms are evaluated to capture moods, opinions and news about the German GT Championship. You create topic catalogues, contact the teams and telephone old and new drivers. On Thursday we go to Oschersleben, on Wednesday the TV technology and logistics will be set up. Around 30 employees work for NITRO in the Motorsport Arena and at the following six tour stops of the German GT Championship.

Eve Scheer: “When we arrive, we go from pit to pit to talk to everyone. That way you get to know the people well and over the course of the season you learn a story or two besides what’s happening on the track, be it spontaneous barbecue evenings or other campaigns. And by the way, you also get to know which team has the best cappuccino.”

An important innovation this season for the presenter is the uniform start time at 1 p.m. She doesn’t want to make a prediction given the strong and balanced field of participants. “We have six new teams that can definitely play a good role if they adapt quickly to the ADAC GT Masters. Overall, many strong and experienced drivers with realistic chances of success will be starting in top cars. But also some GT3 newcomers are good for surprises,” says Eve Scheer. Dirk Adorf, on the other hand, is committed: “For me, the duo of Jonathan Aberdein and Raffaele Marciello are going into the season as favorites. I would put my money on those two.”

On another point, however, Eve Scheer and Dirk Adorf agree and speak the same language. “The start of the ADAC GT Masters in Oschersleben is finally taking place in front of a full house again. That creates a great atmosphere and it’s good for everyone. You can start activities with the spectators again in the paddock and around the grandstands, offer autograph sessions and conduct interviews “The fans are hungry for the ADAC GT Masters and for selfies with the drivers. And the drivers missed that too.”

All races in the ADAC GT Masters start at 1 p.m. The TV channel NITRO will present the races live from 12:30 p.m. The racing action can be followed live on RTL+, Germany’s leading streaming platform, or accessed afterwards in the media library. Qualifying is on sport.de and adac.de/motorsport.
