New owners for Blankenbergse Velodroom

Many children enjoyed the crazy bikes on the wooden circuit in Blankenberge, but the coastal monument was in danger of disappearing. Current owner Thierry Monbaliu was looking for a buyer for the velodrome after 40 summers. After a two-year search, Thierry has finally found a buyer. Tim Poriau and Lana Petit from Knokke-Heist are taking over. “It is something authentic and that must remain. We cycled here ourselves as a child and we have a past in professional cycling. We immediately felt good about the slopes,” say the new owners.

This season, the Lustige Velodrome will remain open for another three weekends. In 2033, the Velodrome may be able to celebrate its 100th anniversary.
