And now it’s the men’s turn too. On Wednesday at 10pm Italian time, Fefé De Giorgi’s Italy faces Olympic champion France in the first match of the first week of the men’s Volley Nations League. The Azzurri arrive as reigning vice-champions after losing last year’s final and are chasing the VNL title that they still lack. In the meantime, however, room for the youngsters, inevitably, to give breathing space to the starters and evaluate the physical conditions (see above all Michieletto recovering from the overuse fracture of the right peduncle of the fourth lumbar vertebra which forced him to stop for three months) but also to work for the future. However, the main objective of the season is the European Championship which already offers a place for the 2028 Olympics
