Man (67) died in an accident in Kemmel

The accident happened in the Reningelststraat in Kemmel around 7 o’clock this morning. A car collided with some parked vehicles.

The driver, a 67-year-old man from Heuvelland, was seriously injured. Emergency services resuscitated him at the scene. He was taken to the Jan Yperman hospital in Ypres in critical condition, but died there.

The man may have become unwell and lost control of the wheel as a result.
