After an unmanned scooter mobile was found in the water at Burgerweg in Burgerbrug at 00:15 last night, a major search was launched there. One of the passers-by went into the water, but found no one.
The security region confirms the report, but cannot confirm which vehicle it concerns. Photos show that it is a scooter. According to the incident photographer who was present later, the bystander said to him: “I have been talking to this gentleman in the pub before, when I saw the booster I just jumped into the ditch, because he might have been in it. Tonight there was pretty drunk.”

The emergency services, including a diving team, could not find anyone near the scooter. Noordhollands Dagblad reports that some half a mile away, other passers-by found a hypothermic, bloodied man. Emergency services rushed to provide first aid. An air ambulance was also called.
The scooter was removed from the water and the victim was taken to hospital. It is unclear how he is doing now.
