Jan van Bergen (25) from Ulvenhout has been missing since Saturday 23 July. The police speak of an urgent missing person and shared a search message via Twitter on Thursday afternoon.
The Game and Media Technology student at Utrecht University was last seen on Saturday at the Smidsheining in Ulvenhout. He left by bicycle. According to his friends, his father visited his hometown on Wednesday afternoon, but there was no trace of his son.
Van Bergen’s phone would no longer receive messages since Monday 25 July, his friends report in a message on social media.
“Who can help us find Jan van Bergen? Unfortunately, we have not heard anything from our friend Jan since Saturday evening, July 23,” write the friends. “His phone is also probably empty, it has not received anything since Monday (July 25). When Jan went to check his father’s place of residence on Wednesday afternoon (July 27), he turned out to be missing. The house was locked and it seemed that he hasn’t been home for a few days. He left on a Gazelle ladies’ bicycle (see photo). He also has a black Eastpack backpack, his keys, wallet and telephone with him.”
Narrow build, blond hair
The Ulvenhouter is about 1.75 meters tall, has a narrow build, medium-long blond hair and possibly a short beard. Presumably the student is wearing beige trousers.
According to a police spokesperson, Van Bergen has been reported missing since Wednesday and there is reason to speak of an urgent missing person. The police have therefore shared messages about the missing person via Twitter and are asking people to keep an eye out for the student.
