Liverpool FC rejected the first Bayern offer for Sadio Mané

Transfer poker continues

A first version of the article was published on Whit Monday at 2:42 p.m. and was updated with new information.

According to a media report, Liverpool FC has rejected an initial offer from FC Bayern Munich for Sadio Mané. Like the newspaper “The Times” reported on Sunday that the German record champions are said to have offered £25 million for the winger. This corresponds to around 29 million euros. The amount for the 30-year-old Senegalese should be made up of around 24.5 million euros plus additional performance-related payments. The Reds reportedly considered the offer to be severely undervalued.

Update 4:30 p.m.: “Sport1” confirmed the “Times” report with his own information and also reported that FC Bayern was planning a new, improved offer. A fixed fee of EUR 35 million and bonuses of up to EUR 5 million are under discussion.

Mané’s move to Munich has been speculated for weeks. The right foot is traded as a potential successor to Serge Gnabry (26), whose future at Bayern is still uncertain – negotiations about a contract extension are stalling. Mané could also replace goalgetter Robert Lewandowski (33), who is willing to change.

Mané himself had previously dampened the rumors about his departure from England. “I wanted to make it clear that I’m still under contract at Liverpool and have great respect for the club. Like I said before, now we just have to wait and see,” said the attacking man after the 3-1 draw with Senegal’s national team in an Africa Cup of Nations qualifier against Benin. Mané’s contract with the Reds runs until the summer of 2023.

Mané fueled rumors of Liverpool departure

Mané had previously fueled rumors about leaving the team of German coach Jürgen Klopp himself. Like everyone else, he is also on social media and can see the comments of his followers and fans. “I guess 60 to 70 percent of Senegalese want me to leave Liverpool. I’ll do what they want,” Mané said.
