Nikkie de Jager, better known as NikkieTutorials, was robbed with her fiancé in their own home in August 2020. Four robbers held them at gunpoint. The makeup artist is tied up and beaten with a firearm. She called the robbery “one of the scariest and most traumatic events of my life” in one of her videos.
René van der Gijp was the victim of a failed robbery on April 27, 2020. He was in his car in front of his home when he was attacked by three masked men. They slammed into the Today Inside analyst’s car, but eventually fled with no loot. Van der Gijp owes this to his car with armored windows. He suspects that the perpetrators were after his Rolex watch.
The suspects, aged 21 to 25, come from Rotterdam and Ridderkerk. They were in custody for months. According to the Public Prosecution Service, the suspects in varying compositions are responsible for four robberies and three burglaries. The robbers struck in Rotterdam, Dordrecht, Krimpen aan den IJssel, Rockanje, Hendrik-Ido-Ambacht, Mijnsheerenland and Uden. According to the police, they took several tons of loot. During the raids, the police seized a car, designer clothes, designer bags, expensive jewelry, watches, money, burglary tools and ammunition.
