A house on Andijkse Generaal de Wetlaan was completely destroyed by a fierce fire. The fire started around 8 p.m. in the kitchen of the home and spread quickly. Several fire trucks tried to fight the flames.
Flames shot out of the house on both sides. “That shows that it is a hefty fire”, says a spokesperson for the North Holland North Safety Region
It is a terraced house that, according to the security region, can be considered lost. Surrounding homes have been evacuated and additional fire trucks have been called in to prevent the fire from spreading. Unfortunately, it was not possible to prevent another house from catching fire.

A lot of smoke was released during the fire. People affected by the smoke were advised to close windows and doors and turn off the ventilation. The fire was brought under control around 11 p.m.
As far as is known, no one was injured.
