Jury: Dutchman Aydin C. guilty of extortion Amanda Todd

A Canadian jury found Dutchman Aydin C. guilty on Saturday afternoon (local time) of blackmailing Canadian Amanda Todd online. The then 15-year-old girl took her own life in 2012 as a result of so-called sextortion (extortion with sexually tinted images). A video she posted on YouTube in which she expressed her despair made her business world news.

According to prosecutors in Canada, C. was the one who harassed Todd online. He was already convicted in the Netherlands in 2018 for digital stalking and extortion. In Canada, C. was suspected of extortion from Todd, among other things, but he is not on trial for her death.
