Another 109 km – No country has won as many times on the Champs-Elysées as Belgium. Also this year there are several riders from our southern neighbors who have a chance to take a stage win. Think of Wout van Aert and Jasper Philipsen.
112 km to go – The riders ride slowly through the French streets, the opening phase, as expected, looks more like a lap of honor than a Tour stage. In the second half of the course, on the other hand, we are expected to drive a lot faster. Then the riders will compete for a stage win.
112 km to go – Beautiful images: Simon Geschke, the number 2 in the mountains classification behind the yellow jersey wearer Vingegaard, drives next to it. The foursome again pose for the photographers.
Another 113 km – The trio will have to hit the brakes if they want to be caught up again. Van Aert, Vingegaard and Pogacar pose several times for the photographers. It’s a very funny start to the final stage.
Official launch! What a great start to the stage, there is a lot of attack by the three jerseys. They laugh hard at each other as they take a big lead on the pack.
Beautiful images: Jonas Vingegaard is loudly cheered by the French public, and can’t stop smiling.
Official start! The riders drive away from the stadium, while Jonas Vingegaard and Tadej Pogacar are talking to each other with a broad smile. Mutual respect is great, despite the competition.
