They will select the athletes for the Dubai event, organized by the FIP and scheduled from 31 October to 5 November
The Italy of padel is in good hands. The FIT has made official who will lead the Italian national team at the next padel world championships scheduled in Dubai from 31 October to 5 November. These are Miguel Sciorilli and Marcela Ferrari, who will respectively coach the men’s and women’s ItalPadel in the United Arab Emirates.
SCIORILLI

The two will have the task of selecting the athletes who will participate in the sixteenth edition of the world championship, initially scheduled in Doha – as in the 2021 edition – and then moved to the venue. The event, organized by the International Padel Federation chaired by Luigi Carraro, is now in its sixteenth edition (the first in 1992). Sciorilli, born in ’64, remains one of the best known and most appreciated coaches. In his career he has driven five world number ones, including the record-breaking tandem Fernando Belasteguin / Juan Martin Diaz. Today ‘Bela’, 43, Argentine, number one in the world for sixteen years in a row, is still under his leadership, as is the Spanish Ariana Sanchez, number three in the ranking. Sciorilli, from Argentina, is in his first experience as a selector and captain of the men’s national team.
FERRARI

Another Argentine, 41, also linked to the name of Belasteguin. Marcela has trained the champion for several years witnessing his successes. Today Ferrari trains several professional players and directs its padel school at the Club Esportiu Laietà in Barcelona. Unlike Sciorilli, at the first experience with the blues of the ‘shovel’, Marcela has been training the Italian women’s national team for years. Her best result remains the historic third place at the Doha World Championships played in 2021. The secret? “Seeking empathy – he said a year ago – I listen to the player, I make sure he is motivated and then I look for what he needs”.
